GPH is recruiting for a Vaccines Country Implementation and Access Manager Ghana & West Africa, which will lead efforts on advancing Immunization Access Strategies and Programs on the African Continent on behalf of Johnson & Johnson GPH. This role will be responsible for implementing Vaccine access strategies, supporting the implementation of vaccines programs and interventions in critical countries on the continent, and working with a variety of stakeholders, including internal stakeholders (medical affairs, external affairs, program leads, government affairs, regulatory, consumer strategy & insights) and external stakeholders (country level key opinion leaders, government officials, development & implementation partners).
The position will report into the GPH Vaccines organization- Africa Implementation & Access Lead for Vaccines and work closely with the SSA Implementation Manager as well as the Medical Affairs Manager for Vaccines.
The Main Duties And Responsibilities Of The Position Are
Work with the sub-regional / country level Global Public Health Vaccine team and other J&J functional focal persons (GA&P, CSI, Regulatory, MAF) to implement the GPH Vaccines strategies, programs & activities.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on vaccines for country /sub region to inform the GPH Vaccine team on country/ sub-regional vaccine deployment plans, policy topics, stakeholder vaccine projects/programs and insights.
Lead the tracking and documentation of last mile distribution of the Janssen vaccine at the country & sub-regional level.
Identify areas of opportunity and gaps with respect to vaccines implementation and access in country / sub-region and feed information and insights to the GPH Vaccines team; advise areas of opportunity that would add value to the Health System.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at the country/sub-regional level to position J&J as a trusted partner in the vaccine’s ecosystem.
Lead engagements with vaccine stakeholders to facilitate access and provision of relevant information on the vaccine to inform decision making and guideline inclusion etc. at country level.
Contribute to activities that position the Janssen vaccines as vaccine of choice the at country/ sub- regional levels in the post pandemic phase.
Qualifications

Education
Degree in Science, Health Policy, Public Health, or other relevant areas of specialization required including a Post-Graduate Specialization (preferred)
Required
Experience and Skills:
Domain Knowledge
Strong knowledge of vaccine, immunization, public health systems and policies on the African continent.
Knowledge of market access & HTA methodologies
Deep knowledge of the African Continent and healthcare environment and experience working on the continent
Experience and knowledge of stakeholder engagement and maintenance of stakeholder relationships / collaboration and partnerships
Knowledge of the multi-lateral vaccine relevant institutions and country level agencies and organizations that are relevant to vaccine procurement and deployment is required
Experience
Experience working on regional and local implementation of new vaccine programs preferred.
Experience in key account management type role, helping to streamline processes and remove roadblocks, is required.
Experience in stakeholder management is required.
Leadership/Culture
Demonstrated leadership ability to identify strategic priorities, bring together different internal groups and deliver results.
Ability to operate in an evolving ecosystem, helping to establish new approaches or solutions is required
Ability to work cross-functionally and be able to influence senior leaders and peers is required

Preferred

Consistent record in identifying policy trends affecting public and private health sector and/or the biopharmaceutical and advancing policy solutions is preferred
